Established in 2020, the Destiny Youth and Women Association (DYWA) is a dynamic community-based organization (CBO) dedicated to creating a positive impact in the lives of underprivileged communities in Siaya County. Our mission is to empower vulnerable youth and women, fostering sustainable development and lasting transformation through a rights-based approach.

Our Mission

DYWA is committed to addressing the root causes of social inequality by adopting a holistic and inclusive approach that incorporates all community stakeholders. We strive to ensure that adolescent girls, boys, and women have equal opportunities to improve their lives and contribute meaningfully to society.

Our Focus Areas

1. Youth Development: We work to create viable educational and employment opportunities for young people, focusing on those who are marginalized and at risk of social exclusion. Our programs aim to equip youth with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to thrive.
2. Gender Equity and Women Empowerment: We advocate for the rights of women and girls, tackling systemic inequalities that hinder their progress. Our initiatives provide support, resources, and education to help women and girls overcome barriers and achieve their aspirations.
3. Education, Health, and Well-being: We believe that access to quality education and health services is fundamental to community development. We work to improve educational outcomes and promote health awareness, particularly among vulnerable groups.

Our Approach

DYWA operates across the six sub-counties of Siaya: Alego Usonga, Bondo, Ugenya, Ugunja, Gem, and Rarieda. Our programs are designed based on extensive community engagement, ensuring that they reflect the needs and aspirations of the people we serve. We leverage partnerships with local governments, NGOs, and community stakeholders to maximize our impact and reach.
